DUE TO VERY HIGH PROBABILITY OF HEAVY STORMS FORECASTED HITTING NORTH ITALY IN THE UPCOMING WEEKEND, THE ORGANIZER, AMP IS BOUND TO REGRETFULLY CANCEL THE DRAG RACING EVENT SCHEDULED FROM 1ST TO 3RD SEPTEMBER.
RISK FOR SAFETY AND SATISFACTION OF PUBLIC AND PILOTS IS TOO HIGH.
28th August 2017. After an accurate and thorough evaluation, HILLS RACE's main organizer, American Motors Pavia - AMP, took the suffered decision to cancel the event programmed from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd September in Rivanazzano Terme (Pavia).
Many of the most prominent weather forecast stations and the Italian Air Force Weather Service were consulted, and all of them reached the same outcome: there is a high chance of cloudbursts and heavy rain in Pavia and its surroundings for this weekend.
The organizers tried many times to postpone the event on another weekend, however many structure suppliers, which are essential for a good outcome of the event, are unable to reserve the required equipment in the proposed dates.
The AMP organization wishes to renew his apologies, but safety and protection of both pilots and public are a top priority in situations like these. Hills Race has to offer moments of fun, good service and passion for sport to those who participate. We wish to respect all of this.
